Premier Wen Jiabao Expects Earnestly:

Let Old Brand Glow with Youth

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao Visited our company

　At 11:25 on Oct.15, 2006, a most exciting and happiest time of day for our 　　Tiger　Head staff, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao together with Vice-premier Wu Yi 　visited our company, accompanied by some provincial and municipal leaders, such as Mr. Zhang Dejiang, Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee, Mr. Huang Huahua, governor of Guangdong Provice, Mr. Zhu Xiaodan, secretary of Guangzhou　　 Municipal Committee, and Mr. Zhang Guangning, mayor of Guangzhou City.

Premier Wen kindly shook hands with our reception personnel on getting off. He heard the report on company management and production by General Manager Mr. Qiu Shizhou. When Wen learned that our export volume shares 31.43% among that of the same industry in China, we own two main brands of “555” and “Tiger Head”, and we have automatically developed production lines which have linked by internet to the Export Commodity Inspection System of QDCIQ, he nodded and praised our good work.

Whereafter, Wen visited production line of Alkaline Batteries and heard introduction of this workshop and some working procedures. On entering production area, Wen firstly shook hands with Ms. Wu Yueliu, a female worker on production line of AAA alkaline batteries, and enquired her income with care. Then, Wen talked with several workers about their work, income and life. It incarnates the concern and cherish of Premier Wen to our Tiger Head staff.

As per the planned inspection route, Wen came to the monitoring room of Real-time On-line Monitoring System over Battery Production Spots, which has been independently developed by our company. Wen felt interested in this system and asked the young technician there several questions. Wen praised this system a lot. “ I have viewed some documents relating to Guangzhou Tiger Head Battery Group Co., Ltd. Now I think this enterprise has three specialties. First is integration of trade and industry. Second is brand strategy. Third is technical innovation. It is rare and commendable. You Tiger Head staff should well retain it. ” Said Wen to accompanied leaders

Subsequently, Wen came to our exhibition area. He was attracted by our various products and pick up the Tiger Head battery again and again ,saying: “Well, this is the Tiger Head battery!” It let us feel Wen seem to say : “that’s the kind of battery which has earned more than 200 million u.s. dollars per year!” When Wen saw the LED flashlight, he picked up and turned it on! He was so happy when he was told the flashlight can work nearly 100 Thousand hours. Then Wen kindly accepted some Tiger Head battery products including this new style LED flashlight as the gift by General Manager Mr.Qiu on behalf of out company.

After leaving the exhibition area, Wen came to the packing zone. He felt satisfied and nodded, when he knew that our company had always taken up with the alteration of facilities at these years to improve the productivity, to ease the working intension, and to improve safety factor. When Wen moved to the label-rolling machine, our staff Chen Hanhua greeted to Wen. At the same time, one battery was locked in the machine. Wen said: “ Never mind, take it easy.” Until the machine got running well did Wen leave. Again, we deeply felt Premier Wen care about us always!

When the inspection was about to end, General Manager Mr. Qiu representing the company invited Premier Wen to give inscription as a memento for Tiger Head staff. Wen agreed with smile. He said: “OK, let me underwrite my autograph for you.” Before they reached the desk, Wen told Mr. Qiu: You remind me the fourth specialty that it is you Tiger Head staff who let the old brand glow with youth!” Premier’s words were the high recognition to our company, and it also put forward higher request for our working in future and expressed the larger expectation to our company.

Before they left the company, General Manager Mr. Qiu reported to Vice-premier Wu Yi that we had won the case of 337 Investigation. Wu said,” This case dragged on one year and a half, and finally you won it. I hope you can develop the rechargeable battery by yourself together with the one-time battery, so that to advance the development of your company.” Premier Wen also went on to say ,” I came to see you as soon as I got off the plane. You began the reorganization and reform your company in the 1980s, and had realized the integration of trade and industry in 2000. You started early, and you realized technological innovation, furthermore, you have your own brands. You should let the old brand glow with youth! After hearing this, General Manager Mr. Qiu promised to Wen and Wu, "We will try our best to do better!”

After shaking hands with our reception personnel, Premier Wen got on the car. The car had not been started. And he kept smiling and waving to us. We deeply felt Premier’s nice and warm smile and tears came to our eyes. At this time, our reception personnel in the workshop stood in line spontaneously and waved to Premier Wen to say goodbye. Then, we saw Premier Wen got off the car and walked to us saying, “Let me have a photo taken with all of you!” We were all moved by this and took it as great honor and happiness. We found a position with the fastest speed and remained the most beautiful moment with Premier Wen.

We take Premier Wen’s visit as a great honor to our Tiger Head and it is also tremendous inspiration and encouragement to us! Premier Wen’s amicability and care for the people will be kept in our Tiger Head staff’s heart forever. His earnest expectation will always encourage our people to move forward. We will convert Premier Wen’s care to power, and try our best to develop national brand, and create better future of batteries of China!
